Fast delivery, well packaged, well made trap. I wish there had been instructions on how to add lure into trap. I'll need to go back to the website to find instructions, other than that, great product.
Works great! We caught a bunch of flies with this lure and now our figs are ripening on the tree instead of drying up and falling off. We're in Northern California (SF bay area).
Hi Garrett, we're thrilled to hear the lure is working so well for you! Happy fig growing and catching those pesky flies. Thanks for sharing your experience!
We are in NorCalif & after a few days of having setting the trap we caught many black fig flies. Supposed to dissolve the white stuff that looks similar to sugar and pour into the yellow part of the trap. Assemble the green part of the trap onto the top part of the trap and get some wire to attach the lure to the wire and twist it along the green plastic bars so it hangs. Do not open the lure just poke a corner to attach the a wire thru it .
The smell attracts the black fig flies into the McPhail trap.
I hung my trap 6 days ago and not 1 fly is inside it.
The new lure formula is working well for my fig tree in Oakland, CA. I hung the trap in mid-August, and within two weeks it has caught many flies.
