Brown Marmorated Stink Bug Trap
NEW IMPROVEMENT: We are now coating the bottom 2/3 of the panels and collection funnels with Teflon. This causes the trap surfaces to become frictionless; insects can't effectively land on the slippery surface and will fall into the collection cup, thus increasing trap capture rate.
Application Notes: Add some water into collection cup to effectively drown captured insects. A few drops of oil will prevent the water from evaporating quickly.
Pest of a broad range of orchard crops, ornamental plants, small fruits, grapes, field crops, and buildings.
Originating from Eastern Asia; currently found in the Mid-Atlantic and parts of the western United States.
Two generations annually. Adults overwinter in protected areas in a dormant state. They emerge in March-April and start mating within two weeks. They engage in multiple mating sessions. Over their lifespan, females lay 400-500 eggs. Nymphs appear in June and are active throughout the summer. Adults continue feeding until September-October, then search for sheltered overwintering locations.
