NEW IMPROVEMENT: Now we are coating bottom 2/3 of panels and collection funnel with Teflon to increase trap captures. BMSB can't land on the slippery surface and fall into the collection cup. Add some water into collection cup. Few drops of oil will prevent water from fast evaporation.

Originating from Eastern Asia; currently found in the Mid-Atlantic and parts of the western United States.
Two generations annually. Adults overwinter in protected areas in a dormant state. They emerge in March-April and start mating within two weeks. They engage in multiple mating sessions. Over their lifespan, females lay 400-500 eggs. Nymphs appear in June and are active throughout the summer. Adults continue feeding until September-October, then search for sheltered overwintering locations.
